Q: What is available to employers that would like to use the Tennessee Career Center Services?
A: We offer a wide variety of business services that are useful to anyone currently doing business in South Central Tennessee. Please click on the Employers tab to view a list of services available.  
Q: Is there a charge for using Career Center Business Services?
A: Our basic services are free of charge. Other customized or brokered services can be arranged for a negotiated fee.
Q: Are Labor Market Information and other business statistics available?
A: Yes, we can provide current labor information and other economic data to employers and businesses as needed, tailored to your business requirements.
Q: Do you provide employee assessments?
A: Yes, there are a number of applicant assessment instruments available including the Career Readiness Certificate and Employment Inventory Assessment.
Q: Do you have facilities for Recruiting activities?
A: Yes. We can provide interview/meeting/class rooms and visual aids for any recruiting activities free of charge.
Q: Are there any workshops or seminars provided to businesses?
A: Workshops and seminars are available to help you in your human resource decisions or personnel policy issues. Special events speakers are also available. The Business Resource Center also offers workshops and seminars on a wide variety of business topics throughout our eight counties.
Q: What is the current federal minimum wage?
A: Currently it is $7.25 an hour.
Q: Are there programs available to reduce taxes?    
A: Yes. A number of programs are available that provide a tax break for hiring certain classes of applicants. The Work Opportunity Tax Credit is a federal tax credit used to reduce the federal tax liability of private-for-profit employers. Employers can hire from 10 different targeted groups.
