Youth of the Quarter
Chris Brindle was home schooled as a child and in September 2012, at the age of 20, he entered the Adult Education program in Lewisburg. He slowly worked his way through the program climbing the levels to obtain his GED, all the while maintaining an excellent attendance record and strong work ethic.
“Chris was a delightful, friendly student who always took his coursework seriously , but always had a great sense of humor,” explained Cookie
Tankersley, Project Learn Adult Education instructor.
Chris was successful in passing his GED exam in June of 2013 and is now employed with a landscape company in Virginia. However, his dream career is to work in law enforcement. “It is what I have dreamed of doing my whole life. Being a police officer is my number one goal because it is a career that I love and can be proud of,” stated Brindle.
When asked what passing his GED exam has meant to him, he replied, “It has given me the self confidence that I need to know that I can do anything.”
